Type Map

ALNY_Fall09_400In September 2009 Bierut created this poster for the Architectural League of New York’s relocation to 594 Broadway in Soho. Bierut has created a typographic map and this is a fantastic example of how type can be used to express an idea. He has organized and arranged the type in a way that no other graphic elements are necessary; the type becomes the graphic element and ones put together becomes a large picture.

Seduction Poster

Yale_Seduction_SmThis Seduction symposium poster designed by Michael Bierut and Marian Bantjes for the Yale School of Architecture for The Rococo: The Continuing Curve 1730–2008 exhibition at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. Bierut’s use of type makes the poster interesting and relevant to our current assignment.
